Addressing the relationship between education and society in the contemporary context implies resuming the foundations that have sustained it in its historical evolution. Delving into this relationship in particular, inquiring about how it materializes from the perspective of the university institution, refers to its origins to inquire about those elements that distinguish it. Revealing the relationships between the university extension and the community supposes in the first instance to delimit this process of successive visions that associate it with everything that the university does in its environment and subtract its own personality. This demonstrates that the extensionist, with its mechanisms that endow it with dynamism and agility, impacts society in a two-way communication, contributing to the transformation of society and its own transformation. The work is aimed at revealing the links between the university, university extension and the community.
