The endothelial changes occurred in several patients from a case series that presented with unilateral progressive essential iris atrophy at various stagings were described and compared with those findings of the few publications on the endothelial alterations in patients with iridocorneal endothelial syndromes observed at a confocal microscope. All the patients were performed corneal exudate to rule out any herpetic etiology through polymerase chain reaction testing.
