Resumen

BLANCO PEREIRA, María Elena et al. Learning necessities on pre-conceptional prevention of congenital heart diseases at “Carlos Verdugo” polyclinic. Rev. Med. Electrón. [online]. 2009, vol.31, n.3, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1684-1824.

We carried out a transversal descriptive study with the objective of evaluating learning necessities on pre-conceptional prevention of congenital heart diseases in fertile-age women in three family doctor´s offices of the Teaching Polyclinic "Carlos Verdugo" and in teenagers of the Urban High School "Generación del Centenario" of Matanzas. A panel of specialists was interviewed to determine the questions to be included in the poll and each item received a value reflected in a scale adjusted to three knowledge categories: excellent, regular and bad; and three categories of educative necessities: high, media and low. It showed that there is an insufficient pre-conceptional prevention of congenital heart diseases in the health area of the Teaching Polyclinic Carlos Verdugo, because the level of knowledge on the theme in the community is deficient. We recommend designing a system of educative interventions.

Palabras clave : CONGENITAL HEART DISEASES [prevention and control]; LEARNING; HUMANS ; ADULT; FEMALE; ADOLESCENT.
