The objective of the research was to reveal the social perceptions of well-being, prosperity and poverty that families of the Parroquia neighborhood have in the city of Santa Clara, using a qualitative constructive-interpretive methodology. A qualitative questionnaire with open questions was used as a technique. The sample was made up of 15 families from Reparto Parroquia in different positions with respect to access to well-being. The data was interpreted constructively through content analysis and with the use of atlas.ti. The significance with which families perceive well-being, prosperity and poverty was based on the economic and material conditions of life, taking into account income and possession of goods, material comfort, stability and improvement; also, in the emotional conditions of life from the affective climate and family support and satisfaction. They also founded through success, education, health, groups and symbolic institutions, essentially family and friends and personal aspects. In the vision of family conditions of well-being, prosperity and poverty, the predominant strategies are linked to work, private businesses, emigration, illicit economic activity and professional training, highlighting individual self-management. In the self-categorizations, the identification of families with well-being predominated, not with prosperity and poverty. The basic opportunities are related to the facilities offered by the State such as health, education and employment. Low wages, high prices, a shortage of products and the country's economic crisis stood out among the limitations.
