TORRES RODRIGUEZ, Beatriz y GUTIERREZ GUTIERREZ, Carlos Genaro. Chronic diseases, aging, ethics and quality of life. A systematization of investigations. Rev Nov Pob [online]. 2023, vol.19, n.37, pp. 322-345. Epub 15-Jun-2023. ISSN 1817-4078.
A systematization of different investigations was carried out, with the aim of making visible the interrelation between chronic diseases, aging, ethics and quality of life, four aspects that are more interrelated than would be impressive at first glance. The main results are that there will be more and more older adults with chronic diseases caused, for example, by diabetes mellitus, high blood pressure and cancer, who will also possibly have several associated diseases, which makes their care and evolution more complex. It was concluded that the inadequate lifestyles of modern society contribute more and more to morbidity and mortality and combating them constitutes an ethical commitment for all. Ethics, and within them good practices, are essential elements for the successful development of any process. There are different factors that influence the survival of people, you can have several “ages” at the same time, such as chronological, biological and psychological. There is a close relationship between chronic diseases, aging, ethics and quality of life.
