Osteoarthritis is a condition found worldwide, and it is strongly associated with aging, affecting 27 millio n adults in the United Statesin 2005. The aim of this study was made an epidemiological description in patients with diagnostic of osteoarthritis, namely; osteoarthritis classification, frequency of the more affecting joints, advanced radiographic grade according to affected joints and osteoarthritis classification, and obesity as associated co- morbidity. Results: the principal affected joints were: knee, 83; 41 % and cervical spine 79; 39 %. Primary osteoarthritis was more prevalent. The radiographic grade 4 Kellgren and Lawrence was found in 21 patients, 10.3 %, more frequently in primary osteoarthritis and knee. Obesity was present 27.2% patients with osteoarthritis. Conclusions: OA increases with aging. Primary osteoarthritis was predominant. Knee and cervical spine were the most affecting joints, mainly in female. The radiographic grade 4 was prevalent in primary osteoarthritis and knee.
