The article reflects on the role of university teachers in tutoring to autonomously enhance the comprehensive training of the students. In addition, tutoring is analyzed as a form of fundamental organization, where the academic, work and research aspects are specified in a general way; the basic areas of action of the tutor; and the types of pedagogical activity, where teachers must carry out their tutorials. Based on the above, a methodological proposal is made for the practice of tutoring in any of the intervention areas. It is concluded by recognizing the importance of tutoring in higher education in the context of Higher Education, the importance of tutors who encourage, guide and support their students in learning is recognized today.
