The Academic Level is a method of classification directly linked to the promotion and evaluation of high school students. Its expression in grades and academic averages identify it as an intrinsic aspect to improve the quality of teaching and learning. However, there are subjective and social factors that intervene, making it an object of study, whose objective is to show and perform a comparative analysis of the academic level of the students of the Intensive High School and those of the Unified General High School, with their differences advantages and disadvantages. To establish the impact that this has on the entrance of students to third level institutions, based on the results obtained through the documentary analysis of the academic notes, questionnaire and interviews for the deepening of the subject from the perspective of the students and the feasibility of the different high school, quantitative variables related to direct grades, qualitative variables as personal and social factors that strengthen the process of information collection were covered. The sample taken was 183 students of both the Monsignor College Intensive High School Leonidas Proaño” as of the Unified General High School Educational Unit “Dr. Gonzalo Oleas Zambrano” belonging to the Cumandá - Pallatanga District.
