The objective of this work is to describe the potentials of dialogue supported assessment to provide meaning to learning the History of Cuba. The study was developed at the University of Medical Sciences Cienfuegos, in the first semester of the 2018-2019 academic year. It included 63 third-year students of Medicine. Priority was given in evaluation guidelines to work with the ability to value, sustained in the dialogue. Two measurements were planned. One as a diagnosis and another at the end of the course, aimed at measuring the perception of students about the student-content relationship, student-teacher, student-student. At the end of the semester, 93,65 % of the students validated the objective of the article. The student-content and student-teacher perception increased by 14 and 123 %. It was demonstrated that this methodology teaching History offers a new meaning and conditions a positive approach of the students towards the content.
