The permanent process of continuous training that intentionally, participatory and systematically develops the components of Didactics, is called teacher professionalization and seeks to train teachers, capable of reformulating scientific knowledge, in accordance with the reality of the historical moment in which it unfolds. , in a close dialectical relationship between epistemological and methodological systematization, so that it becomes a practical statement, whose discourse motivates reflection and research. In the Professional Training Center PROMETEO, de Quito, insufficiencies are detected in the process of university teaching professionalization, since it was found, lack of knowledge and little motivation in relation to the subject, limitations in the procedures to develop didactic competence, insufficient use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), and limitations in the development of the virtual modality, to develop the didactic competence with a focus on values, that is why in this article, theoretical considerations are offered on the teaching professionalization of the university professors in Ecuador, as a process that contributes to the development of Didactic Competence, with a focus on values. For which an extensive bibliographic review on the subject was developed, referring to what happened in the professional field.
