Digital competence is a cognitive process through which the person acquires the ability to use ICT. It is useful because it allows both the teacher and the student to facilitate the knowledge and processes, as well as their transfers. This competence generates didactic strategies that are integrated into digital tools. Likewise, it addresses the capacity, search, creation, among others with the purpose of disseminating the aforementioned through technologies. The objective of the research was to determine how virtual learning strategies are related to digital competence in students of a public university in Lima. For this, two questionnaires were used: one for virtual learning strategies and another for digital skills through Google Forms. The result showed that the students handled both variables, in their respective dimensions, at a medium level. The dimensions of digital competences such as technological literacy, information search, critical thinking, digital citizenship, and creativity and innovation allow the pre-instructional, co-instructional and post-instructional dimensions to promote the academic learning of the university student. During the pandemic, they applied Information and Communication Technology and learning strategies, strengthening their digital competence.
