Background:
in Peru, the university law mentions that the curriculum will be updated every three years, according to scientific and technological advances.
Objective:
determine the relationship between the teaching performance of professors of the master's degree in medical sciences and the level of satisfaction of teachers at a Peruvian public university.
Methods:
a descriptive research with a quantitative approach was carried out at the National University of Trujillo from January to June 2022. Theoretical methods were used: analysis-synthesis and inductive-deductive; empirical: analysis and questionnaire; and mathematical-statistical for the analysis of the data found.
Results:
teaching performance was high: 68%; student satisfaction regarding teaching performance was 37.7%; the relationship between teaching performance and satisfaction in master's students at the National University of Trujillo, according to Spearman's Rho test, was = 0.902 with a significance of p < 0.01. The relationship was high and direct among the study variables.
Conclusions:
the performance of master's teachers in medical sciences is significantly related to the level of satisfaction of their students; it is important to consider these results in order to continue with the policy of raising educational quality in medical sciences.
