In Cuba starting from the constitutional reformation of 2019 stands out the design of an administration model that traffics for more and more decentralized patterns of administration, together to the achievement of an authentic autonomy of the municipalities that will allow advances in the decentralization of abilities, resources and information. The current Cuban context, presents us a Public Administration that doesn't reach the levels of efficiency and wanted effectiveness that she needs to be modernized. For they are required it diverse solutions, before highly complex problems that impact in the administration of the systems and work structures, in the quality and relevancy of the services, in the civic attention and in the formation of the public servants. The present work carries out a chronology of the behavior of the municipal decentralization in Cuba and it stands out the new challenges that today faces the country to achieve autonomous municipalities in its public administration.
