The present work suggests an educational model of socio-cultural training for Metallurgic and Materials Engineering career students, aimed at contributing to the comprehensive formation of future professionals. Such model conceives, as from each of its components, the way this type of formation should be carried out regarding theory, practice, and methodology. The introduction of educational figures of metallurgic communities and enterprises is among its main contributions, all of them able to provide cultural, civic, ethical, and entrepreneurial knowledge that this type of professional needs in his/her daily work. Consequently, the socio-cultural training was considered as a component of humanistic training, a part of the comprehensive formation Cuba attempts to achieve.
