The case study analyzed the higher environmental education of teachers and students of Natural Sciences and Environmental Education and Social Sciences of the University of Nariño, Colombia, based on the environmental dimension and environmental education. Through a theoretical and conceptual framework based on Latin American environmental thought and the contributions of the international francophone network of research in environmental education, and implementing a hermeneutic phenomenological method, the theoretical, pedagogical, methodological and research references in environment and environmental education in students and teachers of both degrees were characterized, thus achieving the design of guidelines in higher environmental training in environment and environmental education.
