Resumen
VIDOR GUERRA, Elizabeth et al. Functional consequences in rat kidneys subjected to ischemia. Rev Cubana Invest Bioméd [online]. 2006, vol.25, n.4, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1561-3011.
An experimental study was conducted in 35 Wistar rats from December 2004 to July 2005 Transient ischemia was provoked in the kidney by a nontraumatic clamping of the renal artery in 28 animals, which were divided into 4 subgroups compared with a subgroup of animals used as control among which ischemia was not induced. To evaluate the functional state after ischemia, the intensity of the glomerular filtrate and the effective renal plasmatic flow were measured and the filtration fraction was calculated. The progressive reduction of these 3 variables was corroborated according to time. The subgroups exposed to 30 min, 45 min and 1 h showed a significant decrease (p< 0.05) compared with the first subgroup and the control subgroup. The intenstiy of glomerular filtration diminished approximately 30 % after 30 min with ischemia. The plasmatic renal flow in this same time lowered 17.6 %, a drop that increased in the course of time. It was concluded that ischemia is a clinically important process that produces a reduction of the renal function as the variable ischemic periods go by.
