SANCHEZ GOVIN, Ester; FUENTES HERNANDEZ, Leticia; CHAVEZ FIGUEREDO, Diosothys  y  RODRIGUEZ FERRADA, Carlos A. Estudio farmacognóstico de Justicia pectoralis Jacq. var. stenophylla Leonard. Rev Cubana Plant Med [online]. 2003, vol.8, n.3, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1028-4796.

It is known the importance of the studies conducted to establish the culture technologies allowing to produce medicinal plants in a sustainable way, to check their therapeutic properties as well as their minimum risk for causing toxicity, and to deal with some important aspects such as the legalization and standardization of the plant drugs. In this paper, the quality indicators necessary to introduce linden, Justicia pectoralis Jacq. var. Stenophylla Leonard into the national or international market as a raw material or herbal drug of renowned properties as a sedative, in Cuba, are established. Besides, the macromorphological and micromorphological descriptions of the species, experiments of natural and artificial drying and the determination of the secondary metabolites were made. The conditions of packing and storage of the dry drug were studied during a year and it was found that the glass flasks guaranteed the drug quality.
