Arecaceae have important value in Cuba as ornamentals plants and other uses. National references about the incidence of parasite nematodes associated with this group of plants are poor. This situation forced to carry out this research. in that way 150 samples corresponding to 19 plant species of Arecaceae family were collected in ancient Havana provinces, where 28 associated phytonematodes species belonging to 16 genera, included 41 new host records, were identified. The most significant were Radopholus similis in Chrysalidocarpus lutescens and Cocos nucifera. Meloidogyne incognita was detected for the first time in C. nucifera, Ptychosperma elegans and Veitchia merrillii, M. arenaria was also detected in the last one. Helicotylenchus dihystera, H. exallus, Quinisulcius curvus, Rotylenchulus reniformis, Tylenchorhynchus annulatus and Xiphinema basiri were other nematodes first found in association with some Arecaceae plants.
