MARTIN RODRIGUEZ, Patricia; MARTIN RODRIGUEZ, Eduardo; LOREDO-SOUZA, AcirMércio y CAMANO SCHETTINI, Edith Beatriz. Using constant temperature hot wire anemometer for measuring velocity ina wind tunnel. EAC [online]. 2014, vol.35, n.1, pp. 78-92. ISSN 1815-5928.
The quality ofmeasurementsof wind velocitiesin a wind tunnel dependsheavily on the proper use of the instruments used to obtain them, for that reason is very important to know the features of these instruments. The hot-wire anemometer is the most used instrument in wind velocity measurements and their fluctuations on a wind tunnel. The features of wind velocity fluctuations are very important because for the simulation of the atmospheric boundary layer in a wind tunnel is necessary to develop a physical model of atmospheric turbulent flow, so that, the parameters which characterize them are reproduced as closely as possible inside the wind tunnel. The aim of this paper is to describe the characteristics of hot-wire anemometer at constanttemperature which produce the characteristics of fluctuating wind speeds and exemplify the application of CTA to obtain speeds in the wind tunnel of the Aerodynamics Laboratory Constructions of UFRGS , Brazil.
