The paper presents a report of 20 patients (0,2%) selected from 7956 patients who went to the Parasitology Department of "William Soler" University Pediatric Hospital with watery diarrheas and other clinical manifestations from January 2000 to July 2001. Protozoon Cyclospora cayetanensis was isolated in samples of fresh feces from the mentioned cases. Diarrheas affected 17 patients (85%), vomits and anorexia were present in 9 patients (45%), abdominal pain in 7 (35%), and fatigue and fever in 3 patients (15%) The nutritional condition of these children was normal. Cyclospora cayetanensis is a parasite that may be observed in pediatric ages and an additional one to be taken into account in the etiology of watery diarrheas.
