We analyzed 64 clinical histories of patients with hypertension during pregnancy in 1997. Pregnancy-induced hypertension a accounted for 56.2 % of this group where slight pre-clampsia prevailed (61.1 %). Abortion was frequent at 38 th - 41 st weeks of pregnancy (76.6 %). Maternal morbidity was low and only 15.8 % was directly related to hypertension. Fetal hypoxia was not a key factor (9.5 %) and the preferred treatment was the administration of metyldopa associated to sedation (53.1 %).
