Resumen
JARA COBOS, Raquel Victoria y MASSON CRUZ, Rosa María. Affirmative Action Policy, its Impact on Universidad Politécnica Salesiana:: Quilloac Natives' Case. Rev. Cubana Edu. Superior [online]. 2016, vol.35, n.2, pp. 139-153. ISSN 0257-4314.
The present article suggests the strengthening of the affirmative action's policies that favor the educational inclusion of minorities, or traditionally excluded groups, such as Quilloac Community's natives. Although they are present in the different spaces of the Universidad Politécnica Salesiana and they integrate themselves into several careers of its Cuenca sede, their presence as such does not mean inclusion, for an intercultural coexistence relation that involves all students in the university is needed. The realization of forums, talks, and workshops on cultural identity expressed in the kichwa language, the Andean Cosmo vision, the knowledge by ancestors, food, art, and music, correspond to a system of affirmative actions that will not only directly impact on the natives' individual self-esteem improvement because it values their origin and those of the mestizo students, thanks to the access they will have to this rich cultural wealth.
