Nowadays, lots of organizations and important figures from all over the world are joining forces in order to solve environmental problems affecting the planet. Education must also get involved in this. However, solutions need to be clearly defined and conceptualized. This paper discusses the concepts of environmental education (EE), sustainable development (SD) and the so-called environmental education for sustainable development (EEFSD) at educational institutions, particularly universities.
