SANTOS COUTO, Pablo Luiz; SANTOS COUTO, Mohammed Luiz y ALVES VILELA, Alba Benemérita. The evaluation process in higher education during remote education: challenges and perspectives in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. Rev. Cubana Edu. Superior [online]. 2021, vol.40, suppl.1 Epub 01-Nov-2021. ISSN 0257-4314.
The COVID-19 pandemic has become a worldwide emergency. The World Health Organization dispensed several recommendations to contain the chain of transmission, among them the mass confinement and social distance, causing the suspension of face-to-face classes for a time indeterminate and, consequently, the installation of remote education, pointing out new challenges and perspectives for those involved. The objective of this research was to reflect on the need for adjustments in the evaluation processes of higher education students, during remote education, in the context of the pandemic. Professors were faced with the need to develop a new class format, which had to reinvent themselves and adapt their practice to information technologies and digital / virtual classroom platforms, so that the teaching-learning process maintained the quality. In addition, it was necessary to rethink new forms and assessment tools, unlike traditional resources, which are insufficient in verifying students’ skills and competences.
