The arrival of Cuban university students at the postgraduate level demands from them a series of competences, among which stands out the achievement of an efficient scientific writing, an essential requirement in the socialization of new knowledge. To achieve this goal, it is not enough to diagnose the errors and limitations of students in the production of texts. It is also necessary to make teachers aware of the role they play in this process, regardless of whether they are language teachers or not. For this reason, this article proposes to analyze the role of teachers of the master´s degree in Social Development, FLACSO-Cuba, in the teaching of social science writing and to inquire into the values and attitudes associated with this.
