The quality-equity relationship in education is, more and more, an inseparable pairing. The quality of higher education institutions (HEIs) cannot be understood without incorporating equity into its meaning. In this sense, the mission of training citizens to respond to their realities with ethics and commitment is a continuous challenge that requires equitable higher education systems that guarantee opportunities for access, permanence and graduation, regardless of factors that may cause educational disadvantages in addition to promote in the institutional environment, values of equity for all members (teachers, administrative staff and students) who develop university work and that is manifested in its processes and functions. This entails the assimilation of a culture of equity that is incorporated into the collective development strategy of the university institution and consequently is integrated into its quality management.
