The study was carried out from January to May, 2003 and, as part of it, a survey was done that allowed to know about aspects such as age, frequency of the ingestion of alcoholic beverages, damages caused by alcohol and ways to obtain information on how harmful this habit is. The main results were that most of males that drank alcoholic beverages were 15-30. They expressed that alcoholism was a disease that brought about economic problems, arguments at home, gastritis and arterial hypertension, and that the ways through which they receive information were the television, nurses and physicians.
