A descriptive study was conducted in 4 family physician’s offices corresponding to the "19 de Abril" Teaching Polyclinic during 1995. All the patients suffering from ischemic heart disease participated in this study. It was found a prevalence of 4.7 % with predominance of females over 60. Most of the individuals were retired. The main risk factors were sedentarism and arterial hypertension. The alteration detected in the ECG was the infradrop of the S-T segment and the most used draugs the platelet antiaggregates
