An analysis is carried out on the general situation of Guinea Bissau, at the beginning of the 80's decade, within the setting of the technical cooperation offered by Cuba to that country, and some indicators that so justify it, are pointed out. The strategies that at the beginning both countries devised for the star-up and consolidation of a Medicine School at Guinea Bissau, are assessed. Financial support, human resources, educational strategy, and methodological advisory assistance, are noted.
