MENDIETA-IZQUIERDO, Giovane; GOMEZ CAICEDO, Héctor Enrique y ROJAS CAUCALI, Carlos Fabián. Social representation of the clinical practice of the intensive care in respiratory therapy students. Educ Med Super [online]. 2015, vol.29, n.4, pp. 777-789. ISSN 1561-2902.
Objective: to describe the social representations of the respiratory therapy students from Fundación Universitaria del Área Andina on the clinical practice of intensive care. Methods: qualitative research work on the social representations where the participating subjects were respiratory therapy students in their fourth semester who answered two semi-structured interviews. The contents analysis was used. Results: the social representation of students focused on those topics included in the Educational Project, on the practice time which is considered too little, on greater depth on issues related to mechanical ventilation for application in practice. Conclusions: the themes studied in intensive care practice are consistent with the proposed program content and legislation. However, the amount of time on practice is very little.
