At present application of mathematical models to simulate coastal and maritime phenomena is already common practice due to the useful results they can provide. The group of Coastal and Marine Engineering of the Centro de Investigaciones Hidráulicas, in the frame of Megacostas project II, is developing a Coastal Engineering System including a group of mathematical models (free code) on Linux system for the generation, propagation of the wave and morphological changes and a parametric model of winds for the generation of wind fields resulting from selected hurricanes. In this work the results of the application of the System are presented through the evaluation of the erosion process during the occurrence of three hurricanes of different trajectory with well-known destructive effect in Varadero beach, Cuba.
