The State Plan for Confronting Climate Change in the Republic of Cuba, Life Task, constitutes the most novel of the current legislation on environmental matters. Recent research reveals the importance of water as sustainability challenges; the integrated management of water resources; and the confrontation with the operational drought, among others. This motivated the author to assess the impact of the Life Task in the investigations carried out by the groups of the Hydraulic Research Center, which she would appreciate, which in general were aimed at confronting climate change, the promotion of a culture aimed at saving water, strengthening the monitoring, surveillance and early warning systems for the systematic evaluation of the different objects of said Plan.
