We were carried out a community intervention in Santa Barbara's community, Valle Guanape, Carvajal Anzoátegui, Venezuela, during the year 2010. The universe was conformed by all the children parasitoids of the community and its representatives of the Primary School Santa Barbara. The general objective was to develop a community intervention to eliminate the intestinal parasitosis, which was developed in three phases: diagnostic, interventiva and evaluation of the results. In the diagnostic phase a study coproparasitologycal was made, as well as the level of knowledge and behaviors related with the intestinal parasitism. The phase interventiva consisted jointly on the design and implementation of an intervention with the formal and informal leaders of the community, the realization of activities participatory groups using the available different resources of the area, with an appropriate feasibility and social and community participation. In the third phase the effectiveness of mediating this intervention was evaluated the comparison of the presence of parasitism and the level of knowledge and behaviors to the beginning and final of the investigation. The intervention was effective, since the full integration was achieved to all the educational activities to diminish the intestinal parasitism, being achieved significant modifications so much in children, parents or representatives. The activities carried out with participatory character also mobilized the whole community and their leaders being achieved feasibility from the social point of view achieving appropriate levels of community participation and Intersectorialidad.
