The promotion of the social interaction at different levels results in the emergence of other ways of thinking, understanding and performance within the scope of each locality. Therefore, the use of the mass media for raising the awareness about the challenges and perspectives faced by the population policies to be applied within the development plans, based on the current approaches of the population’s, educational and environmental studies, becomes the main thematic axis of the research and training actions developed within the present context of the province of Ciego de Avila. The development of a monitoring system for the socio demographic dynamics, able to transmit knowledge for a management aimed at the attitudes´ change in correspondence with the essential principles for the sustainability of the province of Ciego de Avila, constitutes one of the assignments from this province to the university. Nevertheless, the main goal of this communication is to socialize the professional experience carried out under the advisement provided by the Demographic Studies Center at the Havana University for the Faculty of Social and Humanistic Sciences at the University of Ciego de Avila, an experience consisting of the systematic assessment of the socio demographic dynamics, identifying the following actions: educative, organizational and communicative, all of them contributing to the improvement of the decisions to be made within the projects for the territorial development.
