A retrospective and descriptive analysis was carried out with the objective to study the behavior of some demographic indicators of Placetas municipality in year 2016. The data was collected from the Statistic and Information Office and the Municipal Health Center of the city, as well as, the records with demographic indicators published by this Office and the Health Statistics Yearbook from 2016, which showed a prevalence of age group 45-49 in both genders, the population is mainly of urban origin, quite old, and with decreased births and fertility. There was a significant diminish in children mortality rate; and death in advanced age prevailed, being cCardiovascular conditions the leading cause of death.
