Since the last decades economic sciences have addressed environmental problems trying to explain to what extent the environment influences man and how it affects him. The Bachelor of Economics degree from the University of Cienfuegos, Cuba, has carried out studies related to the topic in the Mountains of Guamuhaya ecosystem, located in the central region of the country. Oriented from the discipline Economic Theory, through the subject Environmental Theories and Policies, has established theoretical foundations that have allowed economic analyzes that link specialties such as geography, agronomy, biology, accounting, among others. In this sense, the objective of this work is to evaluate the research experiences developed from the economy to the preservation of the natural resources that are found in this ecosystem, manifested in doctoral thesis, masters and diploma, which contribute to decision making by local authorities to achieve the management and conservation of the ecosystem.
