Background: the perception of the university professors on their teaching auto-efficiency to approach the changes in higher education constitutes a guaranty of teaching quality in this teaching level. Objective: to determine the auto-efficiency beliefs of professors at the Bio-analysis School of Carabobo University, Aragua site, in two different periods: 2011 and 2016. Methods: it was carried out a study by means of a descriptive field design during 2011 and 2016. Theoretical methods were used to support and organize the theoretical background on the topic; among the empiric methods the questionnaire scale of teaching auto-efficiency of the university professor was applied. Results: it was verified through the diagnosis carried out that the faculty has high perception of its teaching auto-efficiency in both analyzed periods, in the frequency of use of the different auto-efficiency beliefs similar results were found. It stands out that the learning assessment and teaching function dimension was the one that varied its levels the most, which diminished in 2016; what showed the deficiencies that subsist in the assessment as a process. Conclusions: the level of teaching auto-efficiency beliefs of the professors of the Bio-analysis School of the Carabobo University, Aragua site, Venezuela was determined.
