The article establishes its introspection around the mode of professional performance of university teachers for intercultural education. The objective was aimed at updating the theoretical imbrication in the matter, assuming that educational experiences associated with cultural diversity from other nations are taking place in the Cuban university context. Therefore, it is stimulated to reflect on the teaching process in conditions of interculturality, the pedagogical strategies to do it efficiently and with quality, the preparation of teachers in the foundations and principles of intercultural education, the identification of intercultural conflicts, their coping and compensation, as well as accrued learning. In this sense, the partial research results achieved are presented that, from the perspective of educational sciences, underpin the need to respond to an epistemological and methodological demand.
