Resumen

CASTILLO MENENDEZ, María Dolores et al. Correlación clínico-histológica de pacientes operados de cáncer de piel no melanocítico en la provincia de Cienfuegos, año 200. Rev Cubana Med [online]. 2003, vol.42, n.3, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1561-302X.

An analytical retrospective study of the patients operated on at the Dermatology Service of the province of Cienfuegos in 2001 was conducted in order to establish a clinical and histological correlation of non-melanocytic skin cancer and to know the quality of the medical attention received by these patients. The sample was composed of all the patients that were seen at the provincial consulting room specialized in skin tumors with clinical diagnosis of basal carcinoma and epidermoid carcinoma that underwent surgery and were subjected to an anatomopathological study. Data were obtained from the medical histories and processed in a computer. The chi square test was conducted for 95 % of reliability. The highest percentage of patients were 60-80, males (67.3 %) and white (99.0 %). It was observed a direct predominance of the population located in rural areas (52.9 %). There was a great correspondance between the initial clinical diagnosis and the anatomopathological result after the surgical treatment (99.67 %)
