PREGO BELTRAN, Cesar Enrique et al. Historical-trend characterization of the community intervention process of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. ccm [online]. 2019, vol.23, n.3, pp. 952-975. Epub 01-Sep-2019. ISSN 1560-4381.
Social attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) historical trends poor knowledge, lead us to propose a consistent analysis of difficulties and contributions within this process, divided into the following stages: definitions and interventions of the disorder (1902 to 1979), introduction of the term ADHD in diagnostic and statistical manuals (1980 to 1997) and emphasis on poor behavioral inhibition (since 2000). Community intervention of ADHD, we concluded that: treatment with psychostimulant is the most used, but the need for multimodal therapy is recognized. Patient-family-community integration and professional training related to the disorder, have positive effects. Inter-sectoriality, self-management and family empowerment are transversal processes. Social activities have recognized positive influence, but the socio-compensatory activity is not revealed in theoretical production. The social medical activity category and its objective expression are insufficient for ADHD investigations.
