A descriptive study was carried out with the objective of evaluating the application of the clinical method in students of the third year of medicine of the University Hospital Manuel Ascunce in Camagüey during the academic year 2005 2006. 100 students were interviewed. 86% of those interviewed didnt think psycho social history is important and 76% was disorganized in the anamnesis. The physical Exam was not very meticulous and insecure in 60% of the students. There was an inadequate correlation between interviews final diagnostic in 64% and in a global way the interview was very quick and frequently interrupted in 48 students. 84% had serious difficulties in the application of the clinical method.
