HERNANDEZ MARTIN, Annia Daisy y PUERTO NODA, Ibars. Jaccoud arthropathy in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus. Literature review on a case. Rev Cuba Reumatol [online]. 2018, vol.20, n.1, pp. 1-10. ISSN 1817-5996. http://dx.doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.1174341.
Systemic lupus erythematosus is a collagenous of still unknown etiology, showing a multifactorial pathogenesis, although with marked autoimmune reference; It causes multisystemic involvement and presents a variable clinical course. It is more common in women than in males in proportion 8:1 and in certain races; Its peak incidence is between 15 and 40 years old. Most authors describe the joint involvement of Lupus as a non-erosive or deforming arthritis and is very rare to affect distal interphalangeal joints. However, some patients may have articular erosions and deformations that manage to become permanent, causing a significant loss of joint function. The case of a patient with this complication is presented because of the importance of its timely diagnosis in order to avoid irreversible articular deterioration.
