The article presents an analysis of the role of leaders in history and of the concept of cult of personality based on the interpretation of the author of the thought of Fidel Castro Ruz, using some very important texts on this subject. It presents the problem of the cult of personality in socialism as a deformation of the socialist ideal and reflects on the role of the party, the popular masses and the leader in the materialization of this phenomenon. It offers an analysis of the qualities that must be possessed by revolutionary leaders, the problem of the institutionalization of the processes of leadership in social revolutions and offers a concept of the cult of personality through a linkage of the relationship between this practice and the authority. It presents a perspective of role of the Fidel in the conduction of the revolution.
