The extraction of the mining resources constitutes one of the central points in debate about sustainable development, especially for underdeveloped countries whose economies depend on these resources. From a Marxist critical perspective, the present paper systematizes the recent theoretical debate around sustainable development of the mining, also it emphasizes the proposal of compensated development as a strategy of sustainable development for mining territories.
