The pleuropulmonary blastoma (PPB) ia a rare and aggressive tumor affecting children at early ages. The case of a 3-year-old male patient that was diagnosed PPB of the left lung in our hospital (July, 1995) and required 5 operations during the 6 years of survival due to the trend to relapse of this type of tumor, which is a challenge for the pediatric surgeon, is presented. Pediatricians and specialists in general comprehensive medicine are given information on the therapeutic conducts and the current trends in a child with cancer of long time of evolution.
