Resumen

REYES CHAVEZ, Luis Reynaldo et al. Healthy Food, Physical Activity and Associated Diseases in Tarqui Parish, Manta, Ecuador. ccm [online]. 2019, vol.23, n.4, pp. 1333-1346.  Epub 01-Dic-2019. ISSN 1560-4381.

At present times, one of the most frequent topics in literature associated with health prevention is healthy eating and its correlation with physical activity; it can be said that a large majority of the population has sedentary lifestyles and little inclination to adopt a healthy diet, which results in the emergence of non-communicable diseases associated with such lifestyles. The purpose of this article is to verify the current situation in one of the parishes of Manta city, Ecuador, regarding food, health and physical activity. The following methods were used: documentary and bibliographic review of scientific articles published until May 2019. The databases consulted were Medline, Scopus and Scielo. Searches have been carried out using PubMed and classified by search objectives. The following keywords were used: food preferences, associated diseases, physical activities. The studies selected were those in which programs, interventions and reviews on healthy eating at the international level were reflected. The frequencies of physical activity practices, food consumption and their evaluation in a low socioeconomic stratum were verified, as well as the prevalence of non-communicable chronic diseases (NCCD).

Palabras clave : healthy eating; food preferences; physical activity; associated diseases.
