A methodological proposal for the integration of assessment and accreditation systems of Higher Education Institutions and of the university careers with the Internal Control System is presented in this paper, starting from their conceptual elements, their components and norms, as well as the quality and assessment patterns demanded by the National Accreditation Board. The keys for such integration and implementation are expressed in four main principles, which satisfy identification and compatibility of the standards and requirements expressed in the components of internal control, in the patterns and in the quality and assessment variables demanded by Higher Education institutions. The need, usefulness and feasibility of the proposed integration are sustained by these above mentioned aspects.
