Accelerated Basic Education is a flexible educational modality, designed to offer a schooling option to children and adolescents in vulnerable situations who are out of the educational system or who are at risk of dropping out. The present work aims to present the theoretical and methodological foundations of the flexible modality of Accelerated Basic Education in El Salvador, in order to highlight the need to develop teacher improvement processes that include the main pedagogical elements for its implementation as a key factor for the restitution of the right to education in El Salvador.
