This article is based on the practice implemented in "To see you better", a project implemented by the author and a group of Journalism students in an Elementary School and an Urban Basic Secondary School in Havana. The experiences are part of the homonymous institutional project of the Audiovisual Communication Discipline of the Faculty of Communication and its fundamental objectives are to provide children and adolescents with technological and audiovisual tools that allow them to tell stories, make better use of the resources at their disposal and link the audiovisual world with the educational teaching process corresponding to the year of study. Based on the systematization and appropriation of conceptual elements of audiovisual literacy and mastery of this language, theoretical-practical workshops are created in which Popular Education and Participation Action Research tools are used, while recording visually the experience. As fundamental results, the motivation of those involved in the audiovisual world and the generation of skills and useful knowledge in contemporary times stand out.
