This research recapitulates the entire process of digitalization of television in Ecuador and the creation of policies for the incursion into the technological blackout, the same ones that began in March 2010 through the Ministry of Telecommunications and the Information Society and with many lags, so much so that in June 2017 it is established that the technological blackout will occur in September 2018. But, this does not happen until the end of 2022.

The subject will be described theoretically, the problems of television channels as they are not yet prepared both in technology and in knowledge of DTT; likewise, and in a transcendent way, the receiving public, specifically in the population of southern Ecuador.

The applied methodology is qualitative, observation and in-depth interviews to analyze the behavior of society towards this technological change.
